We were without water for only a few hours because the water main had to be shut off while the City dug for the broken pipe on the first day. As we are served by two pipes off the main, we had water during the entire period Balkan worked. The DEP returned a few days ago to sign off on Balkan’s job and found no fault with the replacement of the two pipes nor the flow of water to our apartment. If city agencies performed at the high level at which Balkan performs, NYC would be in far better physical condition.
